When employees are the ones who are ranking employers in order to establish their best status, it makes the annual Fortune best employers list a credible retail career comparison for those seeking or changing retail jobs. The best retailing companies to work for in 2016 are largely the same as the companies that have been rated to be best retail employers for the past decade by the list makers at Fortune. The reason for that is not necessarily because the leaders in the Best Retail Companies to Work For like Zappos, Nordstrom, Publix, Google, and Build-A-Bear Workshop have mastered the art of ?workplace engagement, employee satisfaction and all things human resources. According to Fortune, the Trust Index Employee Survey numbers contribute 2/3 and the Culture Audit contributes 1/3 to each companys overall best company to work for score. Rankings are then determined based on those scores, which allows for comparison of all U.S. companies from all industries.
